My mind is still as a stone, so now, just to be on the safe side, I’m launching into a couple of quick rounds of practice sleep. You never know when you’re going to come up empty handed. Naturally, ice is a slippery thing, especially during foxhole season, so don’t wait a minute longer to dig in, even if it requires a bit of a learning curve.
Yesterday, I dreamed I was employed. It was a nightmare. The next thing I knew, that damn hurricane hit. Scissor winds and walls of piercing rain. I swore never again to end up on Trouble Island, so I pointed my AR-15 toward the crouched and cowering crowd of would-be survivors and yelled, Hurry up. Get in the boat. No, not in the red boat. Never, ever, the red boat.
