And I Never Stopped Dreaming

You dropped your backpack
            In my kitchen.
                        Everything
            Spilled out and scattered
                        Across the linoleum:
                                    Pencils,
                                            ChapStick,
                                                      Candy wrappers
            And a dog-eared copy of
                        One Hundred Years of Solitude.
                                    These became the contents
                        Of my dreams.
