I met a gentleman of extraordinary
intelligence and wit.
Someone with vast experience
who made boastful claims about famous
historical friends.
He bent over and whispered importantly
“He who says history does not repeat,
simply hasn’t lived long enough.”
I bought him another absinthe.
And paid for the gypsies
to play once more.
